Brighter Days Ahead for Treasured Community Asset - Percival Landing

The City of Olympia has embarked upon a multi-phase plan to rebuild historic Percival Landing, a major attraction for regional tourists and locals alike. Located along South Budd Inlet, the rehabilitation of this .9-mile boardwalk will ensure and improve public access to the Washington State Capitol urban waterfront.

The landing has been showing its age in dramatic ways. The first phase of Percival Landing was completed and opened in 1978. Its 25-30 year design life has ended. Structural assessments indicate that the boardwalk is in need of replacement, due to serious deterioration.

This local treasure is worth preserving. Building upon strong local, regional, and statewide partnerships, the City of Olympia is working to fund a multi-million dollar capital campaign for the rehabilitation effort. Environmental permitting is scheduled to begin in 2009, with construction beginning the following year. We are happy to be serving as campaign counsel for this exciting endeavor.
